You know, I'd have done better at English classes if I was taught like this:

I see your English class, and raise you geography class.

Yeah, you know what makes teachers who are telepathic make the "Mister Gibney, Stop That." face? Thinking REALLY LOUD about the song where Wakko or Yakko or whichever one it is sings all the presidents.

History class! (Dude, seriously, instant Frowny Face)

GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY

*snerks* I can imagine. I now have the state song stuck in my head. I'm expecting Jean or the Professor to knock down my door at any minute.

My favorite is The Presidents Song that Kyle linked to--but a very, very close second for me is The Senses Song. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2a414eTr-08)

Just for you, Kyle.

That is not teaching.

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
So what is teaching?

[identity profile] x-quebecois.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Taking time to make sure your students understand the things you say, not just know to recite them by rote. It does no good for them to spell a word they do not know the meaning of, for example. Practical use is important.

Thank you.

[identity profile] x-pyromania.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Why am I not surprised? Of course you'd prefer to be taught like you were six instead of... eh. How old are you now? Sixteen, Olive?

[identity profile] x-pyromania.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm. Yup. I would go for practical rather than theoretical any day.

[identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. This explains a lot about yesterday.

Did someone finally hit you in the head hard enough that you've go e senile? I'm twenty, John, twenty-one in December even.

[identity profile] x-quebecois.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Many people would. Theories, they do not make so much sense until they are applied.

[identity profile] x-quebecois.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
You are welcome, of course.

Congratulations on turning into a semi-adult.

Now I'll go right ahead and warn the rest of the population.

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
Semi-adult? As compared to who, yourself? Because this is me, over here, laughing at you.

[identity profile] x-pyromania.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
Go to bed, Collins. It's way past your bedtime.

You just say this stuff because you know it gets right up my nose, right?
