You know, I'd have done better at English classes if I was taught like this:

Taking time to make sure your students understand the things you say, not just know to recite them by rote. It does no good for them to spell a word they do not know the meaning of, for example. Practical use is important.

Mm. Yup. I would go for practical rather than theoretical any day.
