Help?

Sooo. Who here has the ability to drive and doesn't mind carting me back and forth between here and Salem Center High this weekend?

Mom would do it but she's working and I'm meant to be doing my finals, and I suppose I could walk if no one's available...

This would be so much easier if I could just take the damn things with the rest of my class but I guess 'uncontrolled mutant power' makes my former fellow student's parental types a little twitchy. Which, yeah, understandable but still sucks.

So, lift? I'll even make you lunch when we get back. (Although, it'll have to be sandwiches of some sort, or maybe soup. Soup I can do. Got a receipe for this really great vegetable soup around somewhere.)

I can definitely take you back and forth on Sunday. Let me see what I can change with my Saturday schedule. What time would you need to be taken and picked up?

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Saturday, they said first exam is 7am and last is about 5pm, so I'd need to be picked up at 6:30pm and then Sunday it's the same. Thank God it's only the written stuff. Phys Ed. they're just grading me on what I dd during the year, so there's no final for that. Don't know how Forge's little portable device would cope with a full on cross country run.

Darnnit, I was gonna be all like OOH OOH ME ME! ...

But then I remembered I gotta drive with someone else with a license anyway, so somebody else'd have to go and that's pretty boring. And I gotta drive the boring cars ANYWAY and that's -no- fun.

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
*hasn't seen any of the cars yet* What are the non-boring ones? And there will be many, many times I will need to ask for people to drive me places. Least till I learn to drive myself. I can't remember, is 16 okay to start learning?

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Boring" is a function of the driver, not the vehicle.

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, for me a Fiat spider is normal, considering it's what my Mom drives everywhere. But I don't think I'd be wanting to learn to drive in something like that.

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
There used to be a RX-7, well, there is still sorta, I think. And a couple of other cool cars.

I got my license at 16, but mine is special, and not in the good way.

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:07 pm (UTC)(link)
You drive the Volvo then and tell me it's not hella boring. Booooooooo-ring. BORING. Boooooo-r-iiing.

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Ever seen a Volvo get up on two wheels going around a corner?

Want to?

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I, uh, have this thing I gotta do, you know, called Geometry, cause hey, finals in a week?

After classes, sure, because I totally don't believe you can do that. There's car genius and then there's breaking universal rules, one of which is "Volvos are not cool."

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Dare I ask why it's not in a good way?

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
GTA at 13, kidnapped by crazy people who wanted to turn me into some kind of killing machine at 14, rescued by Nate, and on probation until I'm 18, and since I have to live outside of the ... hell, what's the thingy say, I gotta go look this up.

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
*blinks at him for a bit* I take it me asking why having a car up on two wheels going round a corner is cool will mark me as unfun lass?

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Because I need to live outside the jurisdiction of the Montana Criminal Justice Department, they leave it to the Professor to monitor my probation and one of the conditions of it is that I am not allowed to drive a car or any other 'motor vechicle', which I guess means vans and trucks and motorcycles and things without another licensed driver over the age of 18. Even with my driver's licence.

It sucks balls.

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Looks like we're brothers(Does that count when I'm a girl?) in arms then, considering Nate saved me as well. Although, not from quite so stunning circumstances as yours. Does the kidnapping thing happen a lot to mutant children? I've been hearing stories.

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, that does suck. Although, hey, perfect excuse to drag people off on roadtrips. (Or store runs even.)

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, we can totally commiserate on how shitty jail food is. :) Did you get the craptastic bologna sandwiches?

... aw, hell. No WONDER those made me sick. I was mutating. Jesus christ, I didn't even think of that. I can't eat the stuff now, I didn't even think about it then.

And nah. Just us special ones. It helps to have a mutation that makes you harder to make dead and easier to make with the crazy, I think.

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
There is still an RX-7. It'll just take a few more weeks until it's recognizable as one again.

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
What is it with jail food? You'd think we were criminals or something.

I think the cops had fun making my food as crappy as possible. Whatever the grey meat was, I do not want to know.

And your mutation makes you not able to eat things? What kind of things? (*she asks so that she doesn't accidently poison people with random surprise cake*) Killing you is so not what surprise cake is about, afterall.

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
So it's like halfway between being one and not being one. That's pretty Zen if you think about it.

I mean, if it's not recognizable as a RX-7, is it one? It is a RX-7 in progress? But it used to be one, so ... what is it?

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
What exactly do you do to an RX-7 to make it not look like one anymore?

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
*I* do nothing. The previous owner wrapped it around a tree and was going to sell it for scrap, so I bought it off him.

It's got a hell of a lot more frame damage than I initially thought, going to need an entirely new front end, axle, and transmission. You'd have thought it hit Mr. Marko and not just a simple tree.

[identity profile] x-wildchild.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm feral. According to the docs, my stomach and guts are ... kind of a step back, I guess? I forget what they said, but basically I can't eat some stuff. A lot of stuff.

And I can't digest some stuff anymore - a lot of artifical stuff, like fake sugar and fake coloring and fake flavoring. Also - anything with caffiene in it, chocolate (but not carob. Carob I can have.), MSG. Too much milk gives me gas, and if I don't get enough protien, I turn into Kyle the Amazing Throw Rug and try to sleep all day.

I'm not the only one - lots of folks have funny diets. And then there's Forge, who eats motor oil on his waffles.

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Mr. Marko, he's the really really huge guy that seems perpetually cranky, right? And ouch, that's a horrible thing to do to an RX-7. (The tree wrapping, I mean.)

[identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com 2006-05-25 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
*has a happy brain go bye bye baking moment where she contemplates the complexities of making things for people with dietary restrictions.* Okay, so there are more experienced type cooks around here but challanges! I'm always up for challanges.
