Sooo. Who here has the ability to drive and doesn't mind carting me back and forth between here and Salem Center High this weekend?

Mom would do it but she's working and I'm meant to be doing my finals, and I suppose I could walk if no one's available...

This would be so much easier if I could just take the damn things with the rest of my class but I guess 'uncontrolled mutant power' makes my former fellow student's parental types a little twitchy. Which, yeah, understandable but still sucks.

So, lift? I'll even make you lunch when we get back. (Although, it'll have to be sandwiches of some sort, or maybe soup. Soup I can do. Got a receipe for this really great vegetable soup around somewhere.)

Looks like we're brothers(Does that count when I'm a girl?) in arms then, considering Nate saved me as well. Although, not from quite so stunning circumstances as yours. Does the kidnapping thing happen a lot to mutant children? I've been hearing stories.

Yeah, we can totally commiserate on how shitty jail food is. :) Did you get the craptastic bologna sandwiches?

... aw, hell. No WONDER those made me sick. I was mutating. Jesus christ, I didn't even think of that. I can't eat the stuff now, I didn't even think about it then.

And nah. Just us special ones. It helps to have a mutation that makes you harder to make dead and easier to make with the crazy, I think.

What is it with jail food? You'd think we were criminals or something.

I think the cops had fun making my food as crappy as possible. Whatever the grey meat was, I do not want to know.

And your mutation makes you not able to eat things? What kind of things? (*she asks so that she doesn't accidently poison people with random surprise cake*) Killing you is so not what surprise cake is about, afterall.

I'm feral. According to the docs, my stomach and guts are ... kind of a step back, I guess? I forget what they said, but basically I can't eat some stuff. A lot of stuff.

And I can't digest some stuff anymore - a lot of artifical stuff, like fake sugar and fake coloring and fake flavoring. Also - anything with caffiene in it, chocolate (but not carob. Carob I can have.), MSG. Too much milk gives me gas, and if I don't get enough protien, I turn into Kyle the Amazing Throw Rug and try to sleep all day.

I'm not the only one - lots of folks have funny diets. And then there's Forge, who eats motor oil on his waffles.

*has a happy brain go bye bye baking moment where she contemplates the complexities of making things for people with dietary restrictions.* Okay, so there are more experienced type cooks around here but challanges! I'm always up for challanges.

Oh, I'm easy to bake for. No artifical flavors or colors, and no chocolate.

And Lorna has the conversion thingy that is for the making carob taste less like fake chocolate and more like real chocolate thing. But eh, I can live without. Strawberry cake or cranberry cookies for me.

You should sign up for one of the Cooking courses. We do fun stuff like 'cooking for alternative diets'.

If I take that can I eat my results?

That's one of the perks of being in Cooking. Eating your exams.

Sweet! I thnk that's my second elective then. Since I've got American History, and American Literature - it's a theme, did you know? And Trig (ew ew ew ew) and Chemistry (I get to blow stuff up!) and PE and Powers and two electives, and someone keeps making one of them Dance and UGH but I can't change it. So cooking.

I feel so Modern 21st Century Open Minded Guy now. I do my laundry and I'll know how to cook more than burgers.

Then there are those of us that have 'alternative diets' by choice. Hi, I'm Karolina. Maybe you've seen me around, the rainbow glowy girl? Yeah, I'm vegan, too. *waves*
