So, I've been back at Westchester U for only a short time but it already feels like I've been here forever. Still, I'm managing to hold it all together, which is nice. Much better then last year when it felt like I was pulling all nighters every second day just to keep up with all the coursework.

It might actually be that I'm getting better at scheduling 'All the Things', shock and awe.

Still, what I'd most like to do right now is drop everything and fly to wherever it is my boyfriend is this week. He was a bit vague on the phone last night, so I figure he's doing something he can't quite talk about over open lines. Which just makes me want to be there more.

Vee, you working late this week? I feel like a trip into New York to visit people, and I figured I could cook for XFI. :)

dude you know that you can't surprise people if you tell them first, right?

Was I meant to be surprising people? Also, why are you texting in a pool?

I thought you said surprise and not visit. It's been a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong Monday.

Mondays are always long, I think it's a law of the universe or something. Why have you got so many water icons?

I have like three. I swim a lot.

Dude, you have no idea. Came in, got roped into helping prep some quizzes, got roped into watching the cafeteria (omfg remind me to send Lorna flowers because holy shit the food at a public school smells like ass and feet), plus I had my normal like classroom stuff, and I swear, there's this one little asshole who because he knows he can't ask his classmates questions asks ME all his mutant questions because well it's not like I can just tell him he's an ignorant little shit whose parents watch too much Fox News and are probably grooming him for the Jr. FoH.

So far today doesn't suck near as half as bad as yesterday. Today I got to tell like six kids why it was actually cool they were doing Henry V instead of Hamlet because Henry V was actually pretty badass because he "Once more into the breach" and "We few, we happy few" and then the English kick the fucking hell out of the French even though they were totes outnumbered. Also the food truck outside school has a pretty kickass bagel and lox sammich and I dig lox.

You officially had a longer Monday then I did. Even though mine included the 'forgetting you had a class' moment. Luckily someone took notes for me.

I was never much of a fan of swimming. All those lake throwing moments. ;)

Yeah, the crap thing was that was the whole three hours I was there. Today was less like hectic, and I got to be cool even if the kids think it's funny I wear vests (it's vests or ties and EFF TIES. I'm done with ties! DONE! I am over ties. No more ties for me!)

A certain Frenchman did mention your visit. Ties aren't that bad, they're just not for everyone.

Now, Tuxedos look good on almost anyone.

Clearly you should transfer into my program and be a chef like me, no all nighters required! It would be so much fun to take classes together hahahahahaha!

Aye, I am generally the late night worker bee. Still trying to make up in some way for the extra hours everyone else put in while I was gone. And you know none of us ever say no to you feeding us.

Dinner it is then, I figure I'll crash at your place for the night afterwards unless you've got company.

I've two bedrooms and a couch. I'll need a fair bit of company before I run out of places to put people. Besides, since when do I kick you out and keep someone else, Peaches? You should know better.

Very true, but I didn't want to go all assuming things, you know where that leads. Donkeys.

You want anything specific for dinner? Or can I experiment on you food wise? I've got some new receipe books I haven't tried anything from yet and I could pick Lorna's brains for anything new she's been doing before I come over.

Assuming things leads to donkeys? Your assumptions have taken on entirely new, strange shapes than my assumptions ever have.

You can experiment on us. Most of us aren't that picky and if you fail miserably we will find some poor schmuck who is desperate for food to pawn it off on.

You've never heard the 'Assumptions make an ass out of you and me' cliche? I envy you your ignorance on such matters.

I'm thinking assumptions lead to grey donkeys. I'd have thought brown but it seems like a much more 'grey' shaped word to me.

*mad food scientist laughter* I'll make Pumpkin Gnocchi with Spinach pesto then.

I've heard it, I just think it's ridiculous and generally sort of stupid is all. I choose to forget it as often as possible. I like my version better anyway, with your assumptions landing you a brand new donkey to take home to your da.

I'm thinking assumptions result in this guy right here (http://www.real-whitby.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/donkey.jpg).

That sounds awesome, actually.

I like your version of assumptions much better as well. He made me laugh anyhow, and considering the CNN report I just saw, that's a good thing.

It does, doesn't it? Just found it on my search for things to cook and I really want to try it.

He's the love of my life. We try to keep our love on the down low, though. It's so hard for people to understand our connection.

What CNN report?

It just came on the TV. Two mutant teenagers from Genosha are asking for asylum.
